During the winter months Burgau is a tranquil village, but remains a surprisingly sunny place. With less tourists around, some of the real character of the town and its local population comes out. A few bars and restaurants still open nightly, but they remain fairly quiet making this the perfect time of year to really get to know the people who live there as they pop in for an evening drink. The local walks and bike rides are stunning at this time of year as the winter flowers are out. Golf and tennis is generally cheaper as is the car hire and flights. The sun will still shine, you may still need your sun cream and you will likely only need t-shirts or similar attire. The weather will vary, there will be some very sunny days and some very stormy ones too, however from the comfort of your apartment or villa you can enjoy the warm tranquillity or let the rough seas hypnotise you.

Homely, cosy villas and apartments

Our villas and apartments feature modern double glazing and heating ready to keep you cosy and warm in winter. Our kitchens are spacious and well equipped and living rooms large, comfortable with international TV channels. The TVs are modern and take USB/HDMI inputs.  Some of our apartments feature wood burning stoves. We have some of the best views across the village and bay and in winter the protection offered by our closed balconies is particularly popular. This allows tenants to sit outside in full protection in almost any weather conditions.

As a guide, long terms lets over winter are €20 – €40 per night depending on length of let and apartment size, and this does not include electricity which can be €20 – €200 per week depending on apartment size and weather (this is normal for anywhere in the algarve, electricity is expensive here – this is charged at cost). It is really hard to give good estimates as to what this cost will be as how warm you want the apartment is a very personal thing.

Maid service is still included in our long term winter lets, just at a reduced frequency.
